Pengrill is a specialist cooking medium developed for commercial gas catering appliances and is produced exclusively by PENROC, an established UK manufacturing and distribution business based in North Wales.

From a facility in Bangor, Gwynedd, PENROC focuses on supplying innovative products that solve practical challenges for commercial customers.  The PENROC approach is simple: provide dependable products, responsive service and straightforward advice.

PENROC has been manufacturing in North Wales since 1992: our factory is close to Penrhyn Castle, Penrhyn Quarry and the spectacular vista of Snowdonia.  We started manufacturing briquettes as aromatic replacements for lava rock and pumice stone and we have sold in excess of 2 million packs to date.

We understand that commercial kitchens depend on reliable equipment and consistent results, that's why we have worked closely with caterers over the years to ensure we produced the right product for their application.  

 

Pengrill has been rebranded for 2026, to reflect our focus on providing catering professionals with a modern, clean, economical and environmentally friendly alternative to lava rock, pumice stone and clay balls.
